EBSCOhost API Beta provides external access to advanced research capabilities currently available within EBSCO research experiences. It enables developers to integrate advanced discovery, retrieval, and research functionality directly into their own applications.

EBSCOhost API Beta exposes a curated set of the same endpoints that power EBSCO research experiences, including research.ebsco.com. These capabilities are already used in production by EBSCO applications and are now being made available to a limited group of beta customers for external integration and evaluation.

# Features

The current beta release includes support for:

* Search
* AI Insights
* Citation Discovery
* Detailed record retrieval
* HTML full text access
* PDF full text access

Together, these features provide access to advanced research functionality that can be integrated into external applications and workflows.

# API Characteristics

* Access to advanced research functionality beyond basic search and retrieval
* Secure authentication using OAuth 2.0
* Built-in rate limiting, quotas, and usage controls
* Exposes capabilities already used in production by EBSCO research experiences

EBSCOhost API Beta is designed to support external integrations while providing secure and controlled access to EBSCO content and services. Authentication, usage plans, rate limiting, and other operational controls help ensure reliable and predictable access for participating customers.

Feedback gathered during the beta program will help shape future enhancements, onboarding experiences, documentation, and broader external availability. Endpoints, functionality, and documentation are subject to change as the API evolves.

The beta release establishes a foundation for future expansion of external EBSCOhost API capabilities while enabling customers to begin integrating advanced research features that are already available within EBSCO research experiences.
